Monthly Playlist: January 2018

Updated: Oct 9, 2018

As we all know, January feels like a lifetime. It's the sad month of going back to education, it's cold and rainy 24/7 and the realisation hits that we have to wait a whole year for another Christmas dinner. So, in order to get me through, my January playlist is a whole bunch of feel-good, all-time-favourite and other double barrel adjectives to get me through the month, until February rolls around (we'll cross Valentines Day bridge when I get to it).

Like everybody else, at the beginning of the month I went to watch The Greatest Showman which resulted in me listening to the entire album on repeat for the rest of the month. Their soundtrack is definitely one of the best movie soundtracks I've heard in a while; it's full of catchy, ulifting and empowering songs that has definetly helped me to get through the longest month of the year. I also spent early January completing uni assignments, one of which included a review of Sia's Christmas album. Now it's a tad late to be playing Christmas songs, plus I'm a bit fed up of hearing it after listening to it 1000 times, so I swapped the Christmassy chimes for her earlier electro-pop anthems from the We Are Born album.

I also included a few songs that have been constantly playing on the radio, and for good reason! IDGAF and Strangers are hits from Dua Lipa and Sigrid, as well as a few new tunes I came across from Jorja Smith and Tom Misch who are new treasures - enjoy!
